This book is the English translation of Kitab al Ghaibah, a book written by Shaykh Tusi around 447 AH answering all possible questions which arise about the occultation of His Eminence Imam Mahdi. This book is written and compiled in the most outstanding manner where the venerable Shaykh not only answers the questions and doubts from the Holy Quran and narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt but also from reason and logic.
The majority of books written on the subject of Mahdaviyat use this book as a reference making this the most distinctive feature of the book One might refute the concept of a concealed Imam and his occultation by providing the argument that “How can you benefit from an authority whom you cannot see, how can such a person benefit you”?
The reply to this has been given by Imam Mahdi himself in one of his letters where he says, “As for how people would benefit from me during my occultation it is like getting benefits from the sun concealed by clouds.”
